Our History
Michigan 2-1-1 is a free, confidential service that connects residents with thousands of health and human services resources within their communities. We use statistical data (excluding personally identifiable information) from calls and web visits to inform government officials and decision-makers about social needs in Michigan.
2-1-1 Northeast Michigan began as Midland County's First Call for Help and Listening Ear in Isabella and Clare Counties. After expanding in 2009 to include five central Michigan counties, it has continued to grow. Today, 2-1-1 Northeast Michigan serves 23 counties in the region and is supported by seven regional Contact Centers, each staffed with trained specialists who provide information, referrals, and advocacy.
